It is with regret that the Waikato Winter Show Association and Showing Waikato Team announce cancellation of the majority of the Waikato Show 2020. As an event that has caring for people at its heart, we have taken the NZ Government recommendations for large events and made decisions based on both the current advice and the pending changes. From its early days as an Agricultural and Dairy Show in 1907, the Waikato Show is unique in New Zealand and has grown to become a showcase of the Waikato. It celebrates and offers a taste of the region’s diverse communities, organisations, and businesses.

 

What's on Offer

The Show hosts a number of expos ranging from commercial backgrounds through to full community-based education sections.

Live on the Lawn

The Lawn features two alternating stages over the three days of cultural and original performances from Waikato locals. This is brought to you by the Cultural Village, which also offers a range of craft and ethnic food stalls, and Live on Lawn – a showcase of live and talented performances.

Special event: Schools' Day Out

There is a specially designed programme on the Friday of the Show for schools through a pre-registration system. This is an Autumn inspired programme and has a focus on different learning stations throughout the Show. The students have the opportunity to learn about sustainability of the environment, participate in competitions, experience garden to table snack making, discover new clubs in the community, visit the Alpacas and Farmyard, learn about our local service heroes and become safety ready at the Safety Expo.
